Katalin Junek is a visionary set designer, prop stylist, and interior decorator based in Brooklyn, originally from Hungary. Her work is inspired by a rich tapestry of global experiences, from the vibrant, eclectic treasures she uncovers in flea markets around the world, to the timeless beauty of nature, art history, and the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary design.
Katalin draws heavily from her travels, where diverse cultures and their unique aesthetics continually shape her creative vision. Whether it’s the ornate architecture of ancient cities, the colors and textures of local markets, or the modern art movements that fuel her passion for visual storytelling, Katalin finds inspiration in unexpected places.
Her background in film and television production further refines her ability to craft immersive environments that tell a story. However, her true creative spark comes from the influence of her family. Her mother, a furniture sourcing agency owner and creative director, instilled in her a love for interior spaces, while her father’s work as a forester and her stepfather’s career as an industrial designer blended practicality with an appreciation for nature and design. These influences come together to shape Katalin’s unique approach, merging beauty with function in every project she touches.
